Lois Lowry is an award winning author who has written many children books. My favorite book that she has written is Number the Stars, she won her first Newbery Award with this book. This book can taught at the third or even fourth grade level. This a perfect book to use when teaching about the Holocaust. There are many different activities you can incorporte into the lesson plans with this book alone.
